What happens if my child is ill?

It's unavoidable that small children catch all kinds of minor infections. For a speedy recovery and to prevent the other children from falling ill, children who are unwell must stay at home. Only when the fever has subsided for a whole day should you return your child to the nursery. If the disease is infectious, we'll need a doctor's note confirming that your child is no longer contagious.

What should my child wear to Nursery?

Clothing should be comfortable and practical: whilst we make every effort to protect the children’s clothing during messy activities, they do get dirty, so it is better not to send your child in their ‘Sunday best’! We would also ask you to supply a change of clothes, ‘just in case’. The children enjoy spending time outside in most weathers, so a coat is needed for cooler weather and sun cream and hats are required in summer. Please ensure that all clothing is marked with your child’s full name.

We ask that when we change your child into Nursery clothes that you
please return them to the Nursery.

Nappies & Toileting

If your child wears nappies we ask that you bring nappies, wipes and cream (if need) to each session in a named bag. When your child is ready we are more than happy to help with toilet training and it is helpful if spare clothes and shoes are brought. We support all children with personal care routines throughout our day.
